Addicted to the weather

Even when there’s no chance of me skydiving on a given day (work is usually the limiting factor here), I can be caught staring out the window wishing I was at the drop zone, wishing I could analyse the weather like a mad man.

I had to be reminded on plenty of occasions already “you’re not even jumping today!”.

I can safely say I’m now aiming to be the next Michael Fish, just so I can be a bit surer when driving an hour and a half to the drop zone for a days skydiving, to have a fairly good chance of actually getting up there.

I recently asked around on the UK Skydiver Forum what apps people are using on their smart phones, and got a few really good suggestions, some I’m still yet to try out.

One great website suggested was XC Weather, this is such a useful website to have in your arsenal, the windspeeds are the biggest thing for me right now, I guess I think that as long as it says it’s sunny intervals, that’s the cloud taken care of.
