Weekend weather looking good

Looking like some light wind and sunny spells tomorrow so should get a few skydives in, not sure how many I could safely manage to be honest, after my first jump last week I needed a stiff drink and a good sit down!

I’ve heard that if there’s good weather, you could get the whole AFF skydiving course completed in a couple of days, I’m in no real rush, but I guess it’d be cool to get everything nailed, then get on with the consolidation jumps – this is after you’ve done the 8 AFF levels, and then skydive under the supervision of an instructor, as you work to improve your skills.

Unfortunately for me, I’ll be up at 6, and at the drop zone for around 8:30 – they open at 8 on weekends instead of 9, but I can’t see myself getting up at 5:30am!

Looks like it may be gusting up a bit too high on Sunday, so prob just one good day tomorrow – clearly there’ll now be a hurricane passing through the area just to spite me! 🙂

I’m only at level 2, or rather will be doing my level 2 jump tomorrow (fingers crossed), a couple of practice pulls again, and a gentle turn each way with my instructor, not quite sure how that’s gonna work if they’re holding on to me, but we’ll see.

Getting to the stage of them letting go of me, and then jumping out with just one instructor is going to be a bit mental.

After my first jump I was convinced there was no way I could jump on my own, I think they call it a “dive exit” at about level 8.  Been doing a lot of thinking about what’s actually scary about skydiving lately, and now reckon I could jump out on my own tomorrow if they asked me to, then again, if the weather IS that good I may well have to!

Fingers crossed for blue skies…
